Doesn't that above picture look absolutely delicious? Don't you wish you could dive into the screen and chomp down on all those pastries with one swoop? Well, let me save you the headache and possible damage to your computer monitor. These delicious pastries and more can be had--with no injury to yourself or computer--by going to Martin Minasyan's Masis Bakery on Verdugo Road.

Masis Bakery has been in business now in Montrose for over 3 years, though Masis has been around for considerably longer than that in Burbank. A second generation baker, Martin Minasyan came to America in the 1990's. Continuing a family tradition that married the best of European and Middle Eastern baking, Masis Bakery has been earning glowing reviews on Yelp, the Glendale News-Press, and the Burbank Leader. But don't take they're word for it. Come in and taste for yourself! If you can keep from salivating at the sight of their rich pastries and tasty snacks, check your pulse.

Eclairs, cakes, cookies, turnovers, and a heaping host of other decadent treats are waiting for you here at Masis. Not only do they bring their signature touch to old favorites. But they also make some very unique creations of their own. Their Florentina Basket is a wonder to behold and taste. Imagine a tostada, but in pastry form and you'll start to get an idea of the Florentina. A rich, 3 layer cake topped with strawberry mousse and fruit served in an almond and sesame shell. With its unique appearance and heavenly taste, the Florentina Basket is a perfect dessert for parties and a great conversation starter.

Russian pastries and snacks are also given a star turn here. Who among us doesn't love the tasty pirogi? If you haven't tasted a pirogi yet, do yourself a favor and make that trip to Masis now! Choose from potato or ground beef pirogis. Instead of having yet another burger, try this Slavic snack instead. You'll be thinking twice about having another burger again. They're so tasty!

Now for the benefit of those who aren't in the know, chocolate may be my greatest alimentary weakness. So it was with a smile on my lips (and a tremor in my heart for my soon to be expanding waistline) that I greeted the news that Masis Bakery will soon be selling their own line of chocolates at their Montrose location. Maison de chocolat (that's "House of Chocolate" for those that slept through their high school French course) is Masis' own line of chocolate bars that is made in select batches at their Burbank location. Instead of plunking down your change for that Hershey bar, why don't you spend a little more and enjoy quality chocolate? I hope the chamber doesn't mind that I start wearing pants with an elastic waist band to work. They may not look professional. But if Masis keeps making those goodies, such pants may be the only ones I'll be able to fit into!

Masis Bakery is open 7 days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. So whether you need a breakfast treat or a snack to keep you going the middle of the day, stop by Martin Minasyan's Masis Bakery. And don't forget to mention that the MVCC sent you there!

Thank you very much to Martin Minasyan at Masis Bakery for helping me to put together this article. Keep up the great work!
